The Educational Methodology Course at the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy is a 40 hour course that is designed to prepare individuals to effectively instruct adults in fire and emergency services.

• Course Goals: The course focuses on theories of adult learning, instructor roles, legal and ethical requirements, lesson objectives, and student evaluation. 

• Content: Topics include methods of knowledge and skill instruction, lesson planning, and presentation techniques. 

• Evaluation: Students will present lessons and be evaluated on their presentations, with practical skill demonstrations required. 

• Prerequisites: Candidates should have prior experience as an instructor or completion of related instructional courses, such as CPR and First Aid.
